IT’S RED RIBBON WEEK AT WOMS!

Monday – WEAR RED

  • Hand out new vocabulary words (Go HERE to practice)
  • Read novel
  • Go to the library to check out a non-fiction book

Hw: Study vocabulary words & read 20 minutes (remember to record all books read on your 40 -Book Challenge Form)

Tuesday – WEAR HAWAIIAN 

  • Read novel
  • Discuss data & most missed concepts from Common Assessment #1
  • Hand out parent letter to be sent home sharing grade and student quintile
  • Kahoot game

Hw: Study vocabulary words all week and  read 20 minutes

Wednesday- WEAR COLLEGE SHIRTS/CRAZY SOCKS

  • Read novel
  • Hand out new reading passage (drama titled “The Big Jump”)
  • Begin “The Monkey’s Paw” drama from Scope Magazine

Hw: Read 20 minutes, study vocabulary, and complete reading homework ”                  ”

Thursday- BE A SUPERHERO – DON’T DO DRUGS!

  • Continue “The Monkey’s Paw” from Scope
  • Watch video on mood and how music, words, and figurative language can create the mood in a drama or story
  • Work in partners to infer information from the drama

Hw: Read 20 minutes, study vocabulary, and complete reading homework  “The Big Jump”

Friday- WEAR NEON

  • Continue working with partners to infer
