Bring your library book to school. Students will have an opportunity to return their fiction book and check out another one. I’m encouraging them to read a different type of fiction book this time.

Monday – 

  • Discuss Dialect and examples
  • Informal vs. formal language

**We will be starting a wonderful novel, Out of My Mind this week. This is a book about an eleven-year-old girl with cerebral palsy who cannot speak. Throughout the book, she overcomes and amazes her readers with her determination and strength. Melody is certainly an unforgettable character.

  • Introduce Sharon Draper (author of our novel)
