Tuesday-

  • Take up “Full Day” reading passage
  • Pass out “Prince Patrick” reading passage (LAST hw passage for the year)

  • Academic Vocabulary Practice

Wednesday- 

  • “Three Sides” Warm Up

Friday- 

  • Discuss “Full Day” hw
  • “Canine Courage”  (how canines helped during 9/11 clean up)
  • Quizizz vocabulary practice

ALL QUIZLET vocabulary could be practiced over the week for a great review.

  • Watch a video on the Kindertransport (a train that saved children during the Holocaust)

  • Begin Holocaust hyperdoc

Hw: Study vocabulary (test on April 27), finish “Liberty’s Greatest Heroes” passage (due tomorrow) and decorate butterfly

Tuesday- READING PASSAGE DUE

  • Take up “Liberty’s Greatest Heroes”
  • Pass out new reading passage
  • Continue working on hyperdoc

Hw: Decorate butterfly, study vocabulary & complete reading passage (due next Tuesday 4/25) **Prove answers for 5 bonus points on grade.

Wednesday- SCHOOL PICTURE DAY

  • Finish and turn in Holocaust hyperdoc

Thursday–

  • Flocabulary video – “Holocaust”
  • Flocabulary quiz and read and respond

THIRD NINE WEEKS BEGINS!

Thursday–

  • Hand out graded reading logs and non-fiction task card grades (discuss)
  • Introduce Genius Hour and Passion Projects

What is Genius Hour? You Get to Have Your Own Genius Hour! Ideas for Genius Hour

  • Students will fill in a Google Form, which will give them ideas of interest to study (this form will be brought home so parents can help guide their child into a topic of study)

Hw: Be thinking of something you’re passionate about – something you’d like to create, solve, design, build, and learn more about (use the “idea list” to help you) and get PassionProject Introduction Letter signed

Friday-

  • Discuss reading hw (maps, charts, timelines, etc.)
  • We will watch a couple of videos that answer the question “Why have Genius Hour?”
  • Discuss various ways students can present their information, experiment, design, model, book, tri-board, poster, etc.

  • Introduce Passion Projects (just a little insight into it) since we’ll be starting this when we return from the break
  • Give students time to research ideas, read news headlines, etc. to find topics of interest
