Lesson Plans for the Week of February 18-February 22

Parents, we will be starting Genius Hour on Monday, February 25. Every Monday, students will have time to research, and delve into, something they are passionate about. Throughout this week, please discuss things your child would be interested in learning: a certain animal, war, place, person, how to do or create something, space, science, etc. They will become an expert on their topic and present it to the class. Your help will be crucial throughout this process. I’m looking forward to learning from all our “teachers.”

Monday- NO SCHOOL

Tuesday –  

  • Finish Advertising Slide (partner pairs are using various techniques to persuade us to buy their product)
  • Be thinking of Genius Hour topic you want to learn about

HW:

  • Study new vocabulary (Academic Vocabulary 2) Click HERE to practice words. TEST ON FRIDAY, March 1!
  • Complete the Vocabulary.com assignment titled “Academic Vocabulary 2.”

Wednesday-

  • Begin Ruby Bridges mini unit. We will learn about how this amazing little girl endured hate and racism but triumphed and changed history.
  • Begin Ruby Bridges Hyperdoc – story (The Story of Ruby Bridges), videos and enrichment activities

  • Math Benchmark – wear glasses, bring overlays if you use them and come well rested. **Bring a book.

HW: Finish Moby Max from last week if you didn’t (it’s late). You will NOT watch the movie until all assignments are completed.

**Return Max PG consent form (if you haven’t). I must have this in order for your child to watch the movie.
