My last name is pronounced La-BOO, but most of my students just call me Mrs. Boo (makes is much easier). I grew up in Longview and later met my husband, Mitchell, at Kilgore College. We’ve been married for 25 years. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Texas in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in English. I love teaching and am certain that it’s my calling.
My family moved from the DFW Metroplex seven years ago to be back in East Texas where our family resides. I taught fifth grade in Kilgore ISD for a year before coming to White Oak. We have a twelve-year-old daughter who will be in sixth grade at WO (yes, I will be her reading teacher).
I love all animals and have a “zoo” in my home to prove it. I have two cats (Laney and Blizzard). We also have a Schnauzer (Zoey) that we adopted six summers ago. Our animals think they run the house (and at times, they probably do). I also love music, reading, yoga, gardening, and spending time with my family and friends. In my free time, I teach English online to Chinese-speaking children. The more teaching, the better!
I’m looking forward to a wonderful year together!
