Our students have worked extremely hard learning how to do new things, researching their topics, creating final projects and more. It’s now showtime! Our students (or experts) are busy sharing all the incredible information they’ve learned on their chosen topic.

On Day 6 we learned about the following:

We learned about the history of crocheting and that crocheting is much harder than it looks, Michelle Philpots and how she inspired a Hollywood movie, bass fishing, the 5 second rule (and how food DOES get contaminated in 5 seconds), dyslexia, a youtube station called Good Mythical Morning, and the Luminox watch.

What an amazing day of learning! This concludes our 2018 Passion Project presentations. I’m so proud of these kiddos!

Day 5 Passion Projects 2018

Our students have worked extremely hard learning how to do new things, researching their topics, creating final projects and more. It’s now showtime! Our students (or experts) are busy sharing all the incredible information they’ve learned on their chosen topic.

On Day 5 we learned about the following:

We learned about the history of PlayStation, Gaten Matarazzo, how to lose weight while seated, volleyball and some of its hits, rattlesnakes, Helen Keller, the success of Little Debbie, ten of the most common phobias, mini master swords and facts about swords, the history of emojis, competitive cheerleading, we observed three amazing experiments and learned the science behind them, how Warheads are made, and we learned about Dude Perfect and saw a few of their trick shots.

What an amazing day of learning!

Passion Projects – Day 4 2018

Genius Hour

Our students have worked extremely hard learning how to do new things, researching their topics, creating final projects and more. It’s now showtime! Our students (or experts) are busy sharing all the incredible information they’ve learned on their chosen topic.

On Day 4 we learned about the following:

We learned about the history of origami and made origami pelicans, we had a student make her very own seat warmer for those very frigid outings, we learned about the adorable red panda, the US Marines, Mars, Colorado, the Trans Alaskan Pipeline (we had a guest speaker as well), the giant panda, the Swagtron, the history of twirling and how to do some twirling tricks, Ruby Bridges, the history of Japanese martial arts, the Maltese (we even had Belle the Maltese visit us), Kobe Bryant, how to make non-toxic slime and buckskin horses.

What an amazing day of learning!

Passion Projects – Day 3 2018

Our students have worked extremely hard learning how to do new things, researching their topics, creating final projects and more. It’s now showtime! Our students (or experts) are busy sharing all the incredible information they’ve learned on their chosen topic.

On Day 3 we learned about the following:

We saw a student make her very own cake recipe (a spiced pear cake), we learned about Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven on Stranger Things)Inky Johnson and how he became a motivational speaker, Bora Bora, volcanoes, hurricanes, the five most common types of cancer and their symptoms, the history of White Oak and a few of its businesses, the Marines, what it takes to become an offshore operator, sign language, the history of baseball, the detrimental effects of smoking, depression & anxiety, and James Harden.

What an amazing day of learning! Now we’re looking forward to the next day of presentations.

Passion Projects – Day 2 2018

Our students have worked extremely hard learning how to do new things, researching their topics, creating final projects and more. It’s now showtime! Our students (or experts) are busy sharing all the incredible information they’ve learned on their chosen topic.

On Day 2 we learned about the following:

The History of the Dallas Cowboys, the history of music, we heard the first chapter of a book that a classmate created and learned about one of her favorite authors (Kami Garcia), what memes are and who created them, Toyko, the history of Keva Blocks, Amniotic Band Syndrome and the inspiring story of Shaquem Griffin who has this rare condition, the Beatles’ band members, what it takes to become a police officer, VSD (an abnormality of the heart), the Harlem Globetrotters, game hunting weapons and trick shots, Stranger Things and how the Duffer brothers created this popular Netflix show, Bath bombs, Branson, Missouri, how to become a youtuber, Compassion International and how to sponsor a child, Germany, and Ball Pythons.

What an amazing day of learning! Now we’re looking forward to the next day of presentations.
